If a fridge van resembles a mythical creature to you, let us briefly explain how it works. The briefest version is to say that refrigerated van works extremely similarly to the fridge in your kitchen.
The insulated airtight compartment used in the freezer van is a lot thicker than the one that keeps your kitchen’s fridge cold. The reason for this is the ever changing Manchester’s temperature. However, the mechanism is the same. It works alongside a condenser system, which removes the heat.
The condenser system is another major player in the refrigerated van and compromises from three parts: the condenser, compressor and evaporator.
The condenser is a system, which is made out of thin pipes. They contain coolant liquid and absorb the heat. Once the heat is absorbed, it runs through the pipe network and the coolant liquid heats up in the system. The liquid is turned back to gas, thanks to this process.
Once the gas comes to the end of the pipe system, the compressor compresses it to an extremely high pressure. Afterwards, the evaporator pushes air from outside through the high-pressure gas. This transforms the coolant gas back to liquid by cooling it, as well as defuses the heat into the air.
